Data Recovery Services

Servers Inc.® offers Data Recovery Services when the unthinkable happens. There are many reasons for data loss and most are recoverable.

Hard Drive Failure

There are two types of hard drive failures - Logical Failures and Mechanical Failures.

Logical Failure - A logical failure occurs when the drive is functioning but files or data cannot be accessed due to reformatted/deleted partitions, deleted files, missing file allocation tables/master boot records, etc. When a logical failure occurs we:

  • Scan your drive with specialized tools to attempt recovery of missing files and data.
  • When possible, repair/restore the missing data and return the drive to functionality.
  • Copy recovered data to CD or DVD to be returned with the drive

Mechanical Failure - Mechanical failures occur when the drive is not functioning. Common types of failures can include head crashes, failure of the electronics, or motor failure. For mechanical failures we:

  • Perform the recovery in dust-free, environmentally controlled cleanroom.
  • Drives are dismounted, examined, and processed.
  • The drive is imaged to a new drive, or the data is copied to CD or DVD.
